Information about campus regulations:

"Firearms, Explosives and other Weapons"

"Guns (including air, pellet and BB guns), knifes, picks, axes and other weapons are not permitted within the campus except upon request of a regular faculty member as part of the instruction. Transportation of such devices to approved storage facilities on campus is permitted upon approval of responsible authorities." Generally Public Safety coordinates such approval.

"Explosives of all types, including firecrackers, may not be stored or used on any property of the school, unless it is for the purpose of classroom or labratory instruction and is under the direct supervision of a faculty member."

"Students, in particular, are advised that possession of a firearm or other deadly weapon within a school area is a serious criminal offense, and will be prosecuted."

"Firearms Storage"

1. "Firearms lockers are located in the secured storage room by the Volk Gymnasium Weight Room."

2. "On-campus students wishing to store firearms must be members of the CSM Shooting club."(CSMSC) Membership is FREE and can be obtained by contacting the CSMSC president.

"A. The Student must pay a one-time locker rental fee of $4.00 to the CSM Shooting Club and will be issued a personal camlock set to be installed in the locker. Camlock set includes two keys, BOTH of which will be retained by the student. No duplicate keys will be available. Loss of keys will require purchase of new camlock set."
"B. Students assigned a locker will provide CSM Public Safety with thier name, address, phone number, and GENERAL contents of locker. This information will be recorded on the Master Access List held by CSM Public Safety. General locker contents information is for student's protection and shall not be used as a form of firearms registration. Contents shall be listed by type, make model and caliber or gauge. Serial number can be listed at the student's option."

"A. All access to firearms stroage room will be controled by CSM Public Safety."
"B. Students wishing to access their firearms must contact CSM Public Safety in advance. The Public Safety officer on duty will meet the student at Volk Gynasium. Firearms must have action cleared, chamber and magizine empty before entering the gymnasium. Students must present their CSM photo identification to the officer to be checked against the Master Access List. The officer will unlock the storage room and remain present while the student removes/returns items to the individual locker. Students will sign a log sheet recording their access to the storage room."
C. "Students should call Public Safety in advance of the time they wish access to their firearms, as firearms access will not be considered a priority item for Public Safety. On organized CSM Shooting CLub Range Days, a group access time before and after range activities will be announced."

"Other requestes for authorization should be directed to the Vice President for Student Life/Dean of Students."
