Getting Started/Configure Your Calendar for Use:
To set your Portal Calendar options...
- Login to your Trailhead account.
- Click on the Portal Calendar icon.
- In the Portal Calendar browser window, select the Options tab.
- Group Invitations: This option is useful if you regularly schedule
meetings for set groups of individuals. For example, if you've defined a
"calendar set" that includes members of a group or department and you create
an event while viewing the "calender set", all of the members of the group will
be "invited" to the event, instead of you selecting each member separately to
invite them.
- Display options: Define Date, Time, Day,
First Day of the Week and Time Zone options.
- Event & Task Reminders: If you check the reminder box
and set an email address and time, each new event that you create will
send you a reminder the configured amount of time prior to the event.
NOTE: If you change the default reminder time, the new time will
be applied only to events created after the new time has been applied. It
will not automatically change events created before the new time was applied.
Reminder times may be configured individually for each event on the
Reminders tab for the specific event. -
- Event Notifications: If you check the Event Notifications box and
configure an email address, you will be notified via email if you are
"invited" to a meeting or event.
- After you have updated your configuration, click the Save Changes
button (
) in
the lower right side of the dialog window.
top
Create an Event: To create a new calendar event...

- Select the View tab.
- Select the New Event icon from the top of your Calendar browser
window or a new event "plus" icon (
) associated
with a particular day and time. This will open a New Event dialog window.
(If you select a "plus" associated with a particular day and time, the
day and time will be filled in for the new event.)
- On the Compose tab:
- Fill in an Event Title.
- Set/verify the Date and Time for the event.
- Set your Privacy option for the event. (Also see
Sharing Calendars, Setting Calendar
Permissions below.)
The details of a Public Event
are readable by anyone who has Read access to your calendar.
The details of a Time and Date Only event or Private
Event are only readable by the calendar owner and others who
have been designated as additional owners.
- Enter a Location
- Enter a Description
- If applicable, Invite others or resources.
- Set/verify/change Reminders options (on the Reminders
tab).
- Select OK to save your event.
