Student Recreation

Get Out & Play

Need some energy for a night of studying? Or want to be sharp for your exam? Energize yourself with a workout in the Fitness Lab, then rejuvenate with a smoothie from our Juice Lab. Or grab a gourmet coffee-to-go from Java City.

Have some time? Then take a seat and visit with a friend, play a game of pool, watch the big screen TV, or go ahead and study—another review can’t hurt.

Later on, take part with hundreds of classmates in co-ed ultimate frisbee, have a swim in the natatorium, shoot hoops in the rec gym or cheer on the varsity basketball and volleyball teams in Lockridge Arena.

Learn to rock climb on the 4,000-square-foot climbing wall. Have a little more time? Get away on a camping trip, ski the high country or mountain bike in the Rocky Mountains.

Your health and wellness are as important as your grades. It's about balance. The curriculum at Mines is demanding, and physical fitness can help you maintain equilibrium and manage stress. The Student Recreation Center offers all kinds of activities via the Intramural and Club Sports Office and the Outdoor Recreation Center. There's something for everyone. So whatever works for you, get out & play.
