Career exploration industry panel presentations are offered every semester by Career Services. The panel of representatives from a variety of top companies discuss the types of career paths and jobs within each industry, what a day in the life looks like for those positions, as well as tips for landing the jobs. Students are able to network with the professionals afterwards. Examples of these presentations are, Careers in Energy, Careers in Aerospace/Aviation, Careers in Biomedical/Biotechnical Engineering, and more.
Going beyond with career exploration assistance to students includes job shadowing, informational interviews with industry professionals, information sessions, internships for test driving career paths, job search advice/assistance with internships, and full-time positions, and much more!
Your CASA Team can help with exploring various academic majors and disciplines, planning upcoming semester’s class schedule, and projecting a path towards graduation. CASA assists students with deciding or reconsidering a major, identifying a minor or area of special interest, assistance with transfer credit and AP/IB credit, and identifying a new Faculty Advisor. CASA aids students with individual assistance and support with coursework.
Your Counseling Center Team can assist with support in decision making and clarification of values and interests as well as offer counseling around the stressors involved in career/major decisions, particularly when balancing personal preferences with family expectations. The Counseling Center helps students managing obstacles that may be interfering with academic standing, performance and future planning and examines options regarding transferring or time off based on personal situations.
