CASA Peer Advisors

CASA Peer Advising

The CASA Peer Advising program connects students to upper-level peers who are personable, supportive, and understanding of the needs of Mines students. Peer Advisors are an integral part of CASA because they offer an invaluable and genuine student perspective on courses, registration, major exploration, and Mines academic resources.  In addition, Peer Advisors share their time management, study skills, and exam preparation techniques with students looking to reinforce their skills for academic success. The CASA Peer Advisors are excited to work with you! Contact Lisa Anderson for additional information: landerson@mines.edu.

MEET YOUR PEER ADVISORS

Heather Schneider Senior, Mechanical Engineering

Hi! I am Heather. I am from Aurora, Colorado and I love to go hiking and traveling (fun fact I’ve been to 7 countries, 5 in a span of a year!) I am a senior studying Mechanical Engineering. My favorite thing about Mines is the community I was able to create. I was very nervous coming into this school but there are so many different groups on campus for anybody to join. A tip I have is to go to office hours even for the smallest questions. It shows you are trying to learn and you are able to make connections with your teachers!

Daniel Thorne Senior, Computer Science

Hi, I’m Daniel! My hometown is in Dallas, Texas. I enjoy going on hikes around the area and especially up Lookout Mountain. I also like designing games when I get the time.

Pablo Lopez Senior, Civil Engineering

Hi, I'm Pablo! I am from Greeley, Colorado and currently going into my senior year studying Civil Engineering. My favorite things about Mines have been being a part of the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) and being able to study abroad in Spain. A tip I have for students is to build a strong support system on campus with peers, professors, advisors, etc. Fun facts about me, I love going to concerts, I love traveling, meeting new people, eating good food, and being outdoors.
