Computing, Communications, and Information Technologies (CCIT) and Mines Communication and Marketing are pleased to announce People (https://people.mines.edu), our new personal homepage system based on WordPress.

Mines faculty, staff, and students have long been eligible for personal website hosting provided by the university. We’re now expanding that feature to our new, easier-to-use, more-attractive, and more powerful WordPress environment.

Note for Mines personal website customers: All new personal homepages will be based in WordPress. All legacy homepages must be migrated by their owners to the new WordPress-based system soon. Our hope is to have most migrated by the end of January 2019. In spring 2019, the old personal-homepage system will be decommissioned. (Of course, CCIT and C&M can help with advice and training. And nobody’s personal homepage will go away without warning.)

If you have never had a Mines personal homepage — or if you currently have one and would like it to continue to be hosted on Mines servers — here’s how to request your new WordPress-based homepage: https://www.mines.edu/ccit/web-services/personal-web-sites/ — bookmark that link for updates concerning the transition to this exciting and powerful new system.

PS If you already have a Mines personal homepage and would like it to go away, just let us know at https://helpdesk.mines.edu and we’ll make it happen quickly. Be sure to backup any important data before contacting CCIT. After a site is deleted it is (for all practical purposes) gone forever.
