Mines departments and offices are provided with unit identifiers for use on digital, print and physical pieces. Please complete the following form if you require a unit identifier or need existing marks resized.
Please note: The Mines Graphic Standards Guide (page 13) outlines the university policy on logo creation. Only research centers or affiliated enterprises/offices endorsed by Academic Affairs may have individually designed logos.
These centers should contact Christina Vessa (email@example.com) directly for external resources available to assist centers with logo design and creation. Mines Communications and Marketing will not interfere in the creation of center logos. However, given each center’s affiliation with Mines, we should be given an opportunity to review each logo prior to final design and delivery.
The Office of Communications and Marketing at Mines designs materials and publications in direct support of the MINES@150 strategic priorities. While we also aid our campus partners whenever possible, due to staff constraints and our mandate, requests that aid in our recruitment, fundraising and brand-enhancing must be prioritized.
Plan ahead—complex projects require one to three months. Prior notice of 30 working days is needed to schedule most other projects. Provide the basics—who, what, where, when, why and how much. If your project includes the use of sponsor logos, start collecting them as soon as possible. EPS format is preferred for artwork files.

Our office appreciates and benefits from opportunities to capture footage of Mines faculty and students engaged in hands-on learning, field exercises, research and so on. Our recruitment partners also require photos and video of students engaged in extracurricular activities at different times of the day and year. If you have photo tips that align with these needs, please share them using the form below.
Photo services: In addition to the coverage of campus events like Homecoming, E-Days, Commencement, Convocation, and the Fall Kickoff, the Mines Communications Office looks for opportunities to capture student life at Mines. That includes opportunities to capture students in the classroom, engaged in research, extracurriculars, or outstanding scholars who have distinguished themselves in a newsworthy way.
Video services: We produce videos almost exclusively for the purposes of recruitment (including academic program overviews) and brand marketing. We do appreciate tips on events that may augment those projects but regret that we cannot produce videos that recap specific events. We do not do full-event coverage or film entire lectures. Reach out to the Trefny Center or consider hiring a separate production company if you need an entire lecture recorded.
