Thanks to the Mines community for dealing so well with the pandemic this semester. Thanks to our leadership team for running our school in this challenging time while setting up procedures to keep us safe and maintaining a balanced budget. Thanks to students, staff, and faculty for being careful and responsible. Thanks to all essential personnel for showing up day after day to make sure Mines can be operational, safe, and clean. Thanks to ITS for helping Mines switch to remote operations and deal with a massive flow of Zoom traffic. Thanks to the Trefny Center for supporting and encouraging teachers in adopting new ways of teaching. We are getting close to Thanksgiving, so we almost made it through the fall semester! Thank you all for making that happen.

Dorie Chen, department manager in Geology and Geological Engineering, has done an amazing job this semester and over the summer keeping our department and our home, Berthoud Hall, safe. She has managed an array of issues in our building, including graduate student access, lab access, reconfiguring classrooms, and she done many other jobs that have kept our students, faculty, and staff safe. Thanks Dorie, for everything you have done this semester and for all of your work over the summer!...
