Annual DEIA Awards

About the DEIA Awards

Award recipients demonstrate an exceptional understanding of diversity and inclusiveness as represented by their efforts to:

  • enhance inclusion through fostering dialogue and positive communication between persons of different backgrounds,
  • promote an environment free from bias and discrimination,
  • raise awareness and lead initiatives that advance diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion,
  • support efforts in Mines DI&A Strategic Plan and/or
  • serve as a catalyst for change in the areas of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion,
  • contribute to DEIA at Mines beyond primary position description or role expectations on campus.

Application due dates by role:

– December 13, 2024*: Academic Faculty

– January 17, 2025*: Classified Staff

– January 26, 2025: Administrative Faculty

– January 26, 2025: Students

* Since two submission dates were communicated to campus, nominations received by January 26, 2025 will receive full consideration.

New for 2024-2025. Award recipients will receive a plaque and a monetary award that goes into their professional development account (academic faculty, administrative faculty and classified staff), student account (undergraduate and graduate student), or student organization or employee organization operating accounts (groups).

  • List name and title for each person represented in this group.

  • If nominating a group, enter the group's general email address if one is available. Otherwise, leave blank.
  • Max. file size: 250 MB.
    The academic faculty member nominee needs to have had satisfactory annual evaluations overall and in all applicable areas (Teaching, Scholarship and Service) related to the award over the last three years. In addition, is not currently the subject to a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) or any grievance and therefore is eligible for an academic faculty award. The nomination submission must include a memo from the Department Head certifying that they are eligible.
