Annual DI&A Town Halls

About the Event

As part of Mines commitment to fostering dialogue and promoting shared responsibility for Diversity, Inclusion & Access (DI&A), we host community town halls annually. These events present an opportunity for campus to hear the evolution of DI&A, learn where more work is needed and gather feedback from the Mines community. This year we presented the next evolution of DI&A at Mines: a shared services consultancy. Through the process of our DI&A Strategic Planning, the Mines community said that we didn’t want a centralized office, but rather a team of experts that facilitate shared responsibility across campus for DI&A. That’s what the new model does; DI&A at Mines 2020-2025 will foster dialogue and learning, offer support services for individuals and units, and lead specific initiatives like reporting on our progress toward our campus DI&A goals.

The three town halls in February focused on the 2020-2025 DI&A proposal. Over 100 people attended, and feedback demonstrated the proposal was well received by campus.
