Global Ambassador Program

Colorado School of Mines

About

Welcome to the Global Ambassadors Program (GAP), overseen by the International Student and Scholars Service (ISSS). GAP is designed to assist incoming students and scholars in their transition to life at Mines by providing helpful resources. Our Global Ambassadors are a select group of knowledgeable, motivated, and enthusiastic international student leaders who leverage their unique cultural backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge to support the Mines community.

Selected Ambassadors undergo an application, interview, and training process. The Ambassadors work in collaboration with the International Student Council on year-long projects aimed at amplifying the visibility, voices, and contributions of the entire Mines community.

What to know about the Global Ambassador Program?

Sign-ups open on: the GAP Program is now open for Fall 2024!

Our team of Global Ambassadors represents diverse academic backgrounds and countries from around the world, and they are eager to connect with you and share their Mines experiences. Whether you’re a new student, a prospective applicant, or just curious about life on campus, we invite you to reach out to us for one-on-one meetings via Zoom, email, or instant messaging.

Through our GAP Connect platform, you can submit your questions directly to our Ambassadors and expect a response within 2-3 working days. We understand that the transition to a new community can be challenging, but our Ambassadors are here to assist you with queries or concerns you may have.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect with our Global Ambassadors and learn from their experiences. They are eager to share their insights and help you make the most of your time at Mines.

Please note that our Global Ambassadors are unable to answer questions relating to visa or immigration, taxes as well as funding or financial aid.

Furthermore, to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and community, Ambassadors are prohibited from signing or carrying out transactions on behalf of students. They are also required to obtain authorization from ISSS advisors before driving student groups to events.

Additionally, Ambassadors are expected to maintain a professional and respectful relationship with their assigned peers.
