The Final Friday – Let’s Chat series was designed for Graduate Students to create a greater sense of community at Mines.  Events will take place on the final Friday of each month* that include an engaging activity, relevant resources, free food and giveaways.  We encourage you to attend!

January - Welcome Back Bash

September - Discover Mines & Golden
  • Who: Graduate Students
  • What: Participate in a Scavenger Hunt to Discover Golden, and Colorado School of Mines prizes will be given out to the top 3 teams.

Gain knowledge about the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) trips, rentals and bike shop. Learn about the weekends upcoming Homecoming Activities. Learn/discover all that Golden has to offer: hiking trails, restaurants and more!

October - Oktoberfest
  • Who: Graduate Students & Families
  • What: Oktoberfest
  • When: Friday, October 26th 6 pm – 10 pm
  • Where: Kafadar Commons

Come join the Mines Community  for free food, drinks, and great prizes!

Get into the Oktoberfest spirit and participate in a Beer Stein Race or Pretzel Pass:

Beer Stein Race – Guests must carry steins filled to the rim with beer using only one hand from the start to finish line.  The guest with the most brew in their stein upon finish is the winner.

Pretzel Pass – Form teams in a line and give each guest a toothpick and the first person in the line a pretzel.  Each person puts the toothpick in their mouth and passes the pretzel from the front to back of the line.  If the pretzel falls, it must be returned to the front of the line.  First team to get their pretzel to the end of the line wins.

Sign your team at the event: Signup will begin at 6 pm and the competition will begin at 7 pm.

Looking for a tasty treat? Come enjoy pretzels, brats, and BEvERages. For those of you that are looking for a relaxing low key afternoon, join us for horseshoes, cornhole, and ladder ball.

November - Movie Night

Do you just need a break? Stop by, meet other graduate students, eat some good food, and get a free shirt! The first 20 graduate students will receive a free shirt.  You will also have the opportunity to enter into a raffle for other prizes.
