Master's Non-Thesis - Navigating Your Degree
| STEPS | DEADLINES AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION |

| Submit Degree Audit Form | ● Required for all students ● Required for every degree ● For fall and spring graduation, form is due last day of priority registration for that term. Please see the Academic Calendar Academic Calendar for exact date. ● March 1st for August graduation |
| Apply to Graduate in Trailhead | ● Students will be informed by email when form has been processed and may now apply to graduate in Trailhead. ● Apply by Census Day of semester graduating unless checking out early. See Deadlines |
| Complete CANVAS Check-out Course | After applying to graduate in Trailhead, OGS will enroll students in a CANVAS Checkout Course. (Note: this is not automatic nor on the same day as application. It will be done in batches by OGS as more students apply, so be looking for an email regarding the course.) ● For December graduation - course invitation starting early August ● For May graduation - course invitation starting early December ● For August graduation - course invitation starting mid April Students must do the following: ● accept course invitation ● complete 100% of the course ● complete course by 5:00 pm on Upload and Check-out Course Completion deadline deadline |
| Commencement Website | Only students who have met all the above requirements may walk in the ceremony. Students walking in Commencement Ceremony are required to check commencement website early in the semester for all commencement related requirements. See Commencement Ceremony Information |

| Submit Advisor/Committee Request Form | ● Required for all thesis based students ● Students earning more than 1 thesis based degree must submit this form for every degree ● Due: Prior to submitting Degree Audit form |
| Submit Degree Audit Form | ● Required for all students ● Required for every degree ● Submit by: November 1st for May graduation March 1st for August graduation May 1st for December graduation |
| Apply to Graduate in Trailhead | ● Students will be notified by email when forms have been processed. Students will be able to apply to graduate in Trailhead once both forms have been processed. ● Apply by Census Day of semester graduating unless checking out early. See Deadlines |
| Thesis Writer's Guide | Thesis based students must follow the formatting rules in the Thesis Writer's Guide. |
| Thesis Defense Rules | Students must read and follow the Thesis Defense Rules. Students who do not follow the rules may put themselves in jeopardy of receiving a failing vote at the defense and may risk not graduating. Please read and follow all the steps to ensure: ● you have completed all the steps necessary to defend ● understand all the defense rules ● have all your members in attendance at defense to avoid failing votes ● understand the upload and formatting rules |

| Upload Thesis in ProQuest | Due: Upload and Check-out Course Completion deadline deadline Thesis must be uploaded no later than 11:59 pm on upload deadline. Note: OGS will not review thesis if the check-out course has not been completed and if Thesis Defense Form has not been turned in to OGS. |
| Thesis formatting approved | All thesis format revisions must be completed and approved by OGS by 1:00 pm on Formatting Approval deadline deadline |
