Rich Levine received his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and earned dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara (Sociology; Law and Society). He has taught at Colorado School of Mines for more than 20 years, focusing on legal and political philosophy, jurisprudence, constitutional law, and intellectual property.

Professor Levine’s academic and professional work spans Europe, South America, Israel, Washington, DC, and more than fifteen U.S. states. In addition to his teaching, he maintains an active law practice in Evergreen, Colorado, with experience in trial litigation and admission to state and federal courts (California, Colorado, and the United States Supreme Court). His professional background includes extensive work in the sports and entertainment industries.

Professor Levine has a longstanding commitment to public service, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership, including organizations supporting the arts, community service initiatives, and the special needs community. Outside the classroom, he enjoys time with his family in Evergreen and works on community-based initiatives in Puerto Rico focused on women’s health and early childhood education, in partnership with colleagues and communities in Colorado.
