Lisa S. Nickum

Systems Discovery Librarian

As Systems Discovery Librarian, Lisa ensures robust library systems that facilitate search, discovery, and delivery of library services and resources in both the physical and digital realms. She takes a service-centric approach to improve access to and promote library materials for the Mines community. In addition to this, she has a strong area of interest ensuring library users have knowledge of and access to grey information produced outside of the regular information channels. This stems from her initial library positions working with government information. Her research interests include: ensuring federally funded technical reports are accessible for researchers; increasing research skills in using government information, especially environmental legislation and regulations; and taking advantage of XML technologies to transform and/or manipulate bibliographic data to increase availability. Her personal passions include exploring national parks, hiking in Colorado and the surrounding states, and camping with her family.
