Brown Hall 339 – MIRRORLAB: Mines Interactive Robotics Research Lab

In the MIRROR lab, we develop intelligent agents designed to interact naturally with human teammates. To do so, we combine theories and methods from artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and human-robot interaction with robotic and augmented reality technologies.

One exciting project we are exploring is moral robotic communication. In this area, we ask how robots should respond to norm-violating or abusive behavior, or requests to perform such behavior, both in terms of the ethical frameworks they should use, the severity of their response, and the algorithmic processes for generating such responses.
