Mines Park Apartments
Housing Application for Current Students to Apply as New Residents

March 1-3

The application for all upper-class students will begin on March 1 at 10 AM and will remain open until March 3 at 11:59 PM. The application can be found on the Housing Portal through your Trailhead account (Campus Life Tab > Housing & Residence Life > Residence Life Housing Portal link).

Please keep in mind that if you receive an offer for a space in Maple Hall or 1750 Jackson and you accept that offer, you are ineligible to apply for housing at Mines Park.

Incoming/transfer students will have an opportunity to apply for housing at Mines Park Apartments starting on April 1st.

Lottery Process

An application does not guarantee housing.

Applications: All completed applications that are submitted with a paid $50 application fee during the designated application timeframe will receive first priority in the housing lottery. You may submit your application through the Housing Portal through your Trailhead account (Campus Life Tab > Housing & Residence Life > Residence Life Housing Portal link). The time you submit your application has no bearing on the lottery as long it is submitted during the application timeframe (dates and times provided above).

Lottery Selection & Housing Offers: Housing will be offered based on a lottery selection process starting the week after the application closes. Housing offers will be emailed to applicants selected through the lottery process and must be accepted or rejected within two business days. If you accept a housing offer and agree to the student housing agreement within the housing portal, you are responsible for all charges associated with that room/unit for the designated contract dates. You are no longer eligible to request an application fee refund once you are offered housing.

Waitlist: If housing is no longer available, applicants that have NOT been selected/offered housing during the initial lottery process will be added to a waitlist. Applicants on the waitlist will remain eligible to receive a housing offer through the lottery selection process through spring 2020. Please do not be discouraged as many spaces continue to become available at Mines Park into the spring and summer months.

Waitlist Removal & Application Fee Refund Requests: If an applicant no longer wishes to remain eligible for a housing offer, they may request to receive their $50 application fee refund, cancel their application and be removed from the housing waitlist.

A request for an application fee refund can be submitted via the Application Fee Refund Request Form.

If eligible and approved to receive an application fee refund, Residence Life staff will prepare the paperwork and submit to the refund to the Cashier’s Office within 5 business days. Please allow up to 14 business days for the $50 to be refunded to your credit card statement or debit account.

Refund requests are no longer accepted 180 calendar days after the initial date of payment.
