HELLUVA SERVICE EVENT
Announcing the next Helluva Service Event!
Saturday, March 7th
The Helluva Service Event is a student-driven day of service for the City of Golden in Colorado. The Helluva Service Event is a day devoted to giving back to the community and those members that have supported the campus and its population for so long. At the Helluva Service Event, students from all across campus will come together to complete various service events throughout the Golden community with organizations ranging from open space and public parks to local businesses and community members. It is our hope that this will continue to be an annual tradition and serve as a means of supporting the community while establishing a positive connection between the school and other organizations throughout the city.
Kickoff Location: Student Center Ballrooms D & E
Students will check-in in the School of Mines’ Student Center, Ballrooms D & E for a kickoff event including guest speakers, project sign ups and coffee before heading out into the community for their designated service projects.
7:00am Group Leader Training (Grand Ballroom)
8:00am Students arrive and can sign up for a host site with group leaders (Ballroom D & E)
8:30am-8:45 am Pre-Service Sensitivity Training (Grand Ballroom)
8:45am Dismissal to Host Sites (Outside)
12:30pm Groups Prepare to Return to Campus (Host Site)
1pm-2pm Lunch and Group Reflection (Grand Ballroom)
Community Partner Sign-up Form
Our community partners are extremely important to the success of this event. As you have generously provided support to the students at the Colorado School of Mines, it is our turn to give back! We want to send volunteers your way to help you complete whatever has been sitting on your to-do lists!
So regardless of if you have a small task or a larger project, sign up so we can get some students to help out. We are reaching out to everyone from small businesses to open spaces to community members so whether you need your lawn raked, your fence painted, some boxes moved or sorted, we are here to help!

Some requests for our community partners…
As our volunteers do not have transportation, we ask that requests come from within walking distance or along the RTD bus route.
- Please try and limit projects to those that can be realistically completed in a few hours on one day.
- Volunteers will be available to start walking to projects at 8:45 AM.
- If you have supplies for your event that is great! If not we may be able to help provide supplies, just let us know in the above form.
- The sky is the limit with projects! While we may not be able to fulfill all requests, feel free to request any help you need.
- We will be placing our volunteers in a first come first serve basis. We will do our best to fulfill all requests with volunteers; however we cannot guarantee all projects will have support.
The volunteers for this Helluva Service Event will be School of Mines students from all across campus!
