Personal Points of Interest:

I love all things about being a Coloradoan. I grew up in Colorado Springs, and I spend as much time as I can outdoors skiing, hiking with my partner, and playing with my two huskies. I’m an avid Harry Potter fan and love to travel.  

Begona Ruiz

Associate Director for SAIL Finance & Operations

Duties:

  • SAIL budget and spending
  • Recommendations on budget changes and realignments 
  • Policy development, definition, implementation and training for student fee money
  • Implementation of financial and fiscal policies. Make recommendations and implement procedural changes and best practices
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Oversight of over 200 student organizations’ finances

Personal Points of Interest:

We love living in Golden, CO! I have a very smart and active girl, and a wonderful husband who is also a Mines graduate. We spend most of our time on sports fields somewhere or doing fun activities. I enjoy a lot of different things, especially traveling. We have a pet rabbit, Daisy. I am a bit of an organic food nut.

 

 

ALEXANDRA DEMOPOULOS

  • Advise and Support Mines Activities Council (MAC)
  • Assist with campus traditions such as M-Climb and Fall Kick-Off
  • Oversee Family & Friends Weekend
  • Supervise SAIL student consultants
  • Work with campus partners to plan E-Days and other large scale campus events

Personal Points of Interest:

Although I am originally from Wisconsin I have called Colorado home for the past 5 years. When I am not at work I am probably wandering in the mountains with my red heeler Angus, rock climbing or traveling.

 

Alexis Lakers

Fraternity & Sorority Life Coordinator

Duties:

  • Oversee all Greek Life Organizations
  • Provide educational programming for leadership development
  • Advise the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils
  • Serve as a primary source of support for Greek students
  • Develop partnerships between the Greek community and campus

Personal Points of Interest: Coming from the great state of Texas, I am super excited to experience Colorado and all it has to offer! My hobbies include going to the gym, spending time with my dog Haden, and attending music festivals and sporting events whenever I can.
