HUNGRY? Visit Blaster’s Basket!

Blaster’s Basket is the food pantry on campus that provides non-perishable foods, toiletries, and basic school supplies for all Orediggers in need. 

Location: Ben H. Parker Student Center, student lounge W150.

Spring Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m

 

How to contribute to Blaster’s Basket:

  • Non-perishable foods, toiletries, & basic school supplies can be dropped off in the pantry.
  • To make a cash donation, or monetary gift please visit: Mines Alumni Foundation
  • If your group is interested in hosting a food drive please contact: The SOS Office.

Casa Cupboard: Lower level of Aspen Hall (1869 W. Campus Rd.)
Mines Park: Community Kitchens (southwest corner of 6th Avenue and 19th Street, at the base of Mt. Zion)
The CASA Cupboard Extension is here to support all students who are experiencing food insecurity. It also provides nourishment for students who are receiving academic support in CASA.
The Mines Park Extension is a family housing community located 3/4 miles from campus. Mines Park residents have access to the community kitchens where families are able to prepare meals.
Hours of Operation:
Monday – Thursday: 8 AM – 9 PM
Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM

24/7 for Mines Park Residents

Volunteer meal Plans

Voluntary/commuter meal plans are optional for students living off-campus, living in Greek Housing, and living in our apartment communities: 1750 Jackson Street and Mines Park.

Fighting Hunger at Mines

 Fighting Hunger at Mines works to minimize food waste and provide students with affordable or free food.  Through cooperation with community organizations, we source food and provide opportunities for those in need.  We work to educate on environmentally and health-conscious diets, how to prepare meals, and how to escape the cycle of a flawed food system.
