Orediggers in Need supports students with food insecurity by providing access to the necessary resources to ensure all students are academically successful.
HUNGRY? Visit Blaster's Basket!
Blaster’s Basket is a food pantry on campus that provides free food and toiletries to all Orediggers in need. Thanks to partnerships with local organizations, Blaster’s Basket is often able to provide fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables in addition to the non-perishable items that are always available.

How to Contribute to Blaster's Basket
- Non-perishable foods (please check expiration dates) can be dropped off in the pantry in our green donation box.
- To make a cash donation or monetary gift, please visit: Mines Alumni Foundation.

Blaster’s Basket Extensions
Green Center
The Green Center Extension is here to support all students who are experiencing food insecurity. It also provides connection to resources and supports.

Mines Park
The Mines Park Extension is a family housing community located 3/4 miles from campus. Mines Park Residents have access to the community kitchens where families are able to prepare meals.

Community Kitchens (southwest corner of 6th Ave and 19th St at the base of Mt. Zion)

24/7 for Mines Park Residents
Swipe Out Hunger
Student Outreach & Support and the BlasterCard Office have partnered with Sodexo at Colorado School of Mines to provide meal swipes to students who are experiencing food insecurity.
Sodexo’s Swipe Out Hunger (SOH) program creates a Meal Swipe Bank that provides students with meal swipes for redemption of residential dining meals.
Student Outreach & Support will use the form below to allow students to apply for blocks of 10, 15, or 20 meals at Mines Market. SOS case managers will connect with students to assess their short-term and long-term food needs.

Student Emergency Fund (SEF)
The SEF is a fund set aside to provide financial resources to Orediggers facing difficult circumstances like the loss of a family member, natural disasters, unhealthy living situations, food insecurity, or other emergency situations. To learn more, visit the SEF website:
