About Voluntary Meal Plans

Voluntary meal plans are available to students living off-campus, in Greek Housing, 1750 Jackson or at Mines Park Apartments.

Upon purchasing a voluntary meal plan, you will see the amount of $0.00. Once you click on the purchase button, the actual cost of the plan is assessed to your student account within 72 hours.

The meal swipes in each plan are ONLY for Mines Market. If a meal plan has exchanges, those can be used at select locations on campus. 

Weekly meal plans – These are per semester plans and do not automatically renew for the following semester. 

Meal swipes refresh each week, and have a fixed amount of munch money per semester. Meals do not roll over after the week’s end. Munch money rolls over from Fall to Spring, however, meal swipes DO NOT roll. All munch money will expire at the conclusion of the Spring Semester.

The meal swipes in each plan are ONLY for Mines Market. 

Block Voluntary Meal Plans – These are fixed number of meal swipes that can be used throughout the academic year. Additional plans can be purchased as needed. 

Munch Money and meals roll over from Fall to Spring. All unused swipes and munch money will expire at the conclusion of the Spring Semester.

  • Upon purchasing a commuter meal plan, you will see the amount of $0.00. Once you click on the purchase button, the actual cost of the plan assessed to your student account within 72 hours.
  • The meals in each plan are ONLY for Mines Market. If a meal plan has exchanges, those can be used at select locations on campus. Each location has selected times when meal exchanges can be used. 
  • All meal plans (and accompanying “munch money”) that are available through MINES Dining are accessed with proximity chip embedded in BlasterCard. Each Mines Dining location on campus will use your BlasterCard to track meal swipes or confirm a “munch money” payment.
  • For students living in a residence hall, (Bradford, Elm, Maple, Morgan, Spruce, and Randall) please email housing@mines.edu for more information or to change your meal plan.
