Ways to Save the Planet this Spring

Join Mines Sustainability as we work to make 2021 the spring to be sustainable! Below, you’ll find a variety of ideas and opportunities to get involved and make 2021 your greenest year yet!

March 2021

The first day of spring is March 20! Time for some spring cleaning. Why not use this time to eliminate energy and water wasters in your room, office, or lab.

March 3, 2021WORLD WILDLIFE DAY. This day celebrates the many beautiful and varied forms of animals and plants to raise awareness of their multitude of benefits to humans and the social, environmental and economic impact of biodiversity loss.

March 8, 2021 – SOLAR APPRECIATION DAY. Daylight is getting longer! Use the sun’s natural light when possible and switch off all lights when leaving your room/office everyday this month.

March 21, 2021INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS. When we drink a glass of water, write in a notebook, take medicine for a fever or build a house, these and many other aspects of our lives are linked to forests in one way or another.

March 22, 2021WORLD WATER DAY. This day is about what water means to people, its true value, and how we can better protect this vital resource on which all life depends!

March 27-April 4 2021 – SPRING BREAK! Save the planet on your spring break! Unplug all electronics in your room/office over the break (computer, TV/cable, projector, stereo, printer, all chargers, etc.). Learn more here
