P2P Augmented Reality over Heterogeneous Devices

Project Goals and Description:

This project aims to integrate devices of different capabilities such as smartphones, and Raspberry Pi nodes with camera through P2P connection for networked multi-user AR applications.

Grand Challenge: Enhance virtual reality.
This will be achieved via various activities, including reading papers and working with actual hardware to conduct experiments.

Student Preparation

Qualifications

Student should be familiar with basic data structures and C/C++/Python programming and know how to program mobile phones.

SKILLS/TECHNIQUES GAINED

Student will develop an understanding of embedded systems programming, distributed systems, and augmented reality.

MENTORING PLAN

The student will be working closely with grad students on the same project; attending weekly project meetings with faculty to discuss problems and solutions.
