The goal of this project is to identify the components of the illicit gold supply chain in Peru and then model them to determine sites for disruption.

Student Preparation
Qualifications
The student should have the ability to read and write in Spanish, an interest in gold supply chains, and the willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams.
Time Commitment
4-5 hours/week
Skills/Techniques Gained
The student will gain skills relevant to working in interdisciplinary research teams and techniques for data analysis.
Mentoring Plan
The student will be mentored through regular project meetings with faculty from 2 different departments at Mines and 3 different disciplines. The student will also be mentored through interactions with graduate students on the project.
