Machine Learning and AI for resources engineering

Sebnem Duzgun | duzgun@mines.edu and Tulay Flamand | tflamand@mines.edu

The major goal of this research is to develop machine learning and artificial intelligence models for multimodel data in resources engineering for prediction and pattern recognition. The project includes various multimodal data from text, images, video, and other publicly available data as well as crowdsourcing data, Typical application areas are mineral and oil/gas exploration, data for social good, energy demand and supply analysis, social license to operate, sustainability assessment.

Elucidate the interdisciplinary nature of the project

The project compiles knowledge from data science and resources engineering.
