The main objectives of this project are to apply machine learning tools to better understand how brittle materials like rocks and concrete fail when subjected to stress and how the failure can be predicted.

The student should have some experience in MATLAB and/or Python programming.

Ability to conduct and interpret experiments, scientific writing and journal publications.
Mentoring Plan
Weekly meeting with the faculty mentor. I will assist with the preparation of the presentations.posters, and publications. Student will also interact with the other student researchers in my team.
