Synthesis and Electrochemical Evaluation of PGM-free catalysts

Svitlana Pylypenko | spylypen@mines.edu

This project includes synthesis of platinum group metal-free catalysts for oxygen reduction in low temperature fuel cells. The goal of this work is to integrate chemical and physical routes of incorporation of nitrogen and iron into the network of carbon for optimization of catalyst composition and morphology and respectively, oxygen reduction activity. Oxygen reduction activity and selectivity will be evaluated in rotating ring disk electrode.
