This project is associated with a funded DOE project on the development of a inspection and repair robot for use in coal fired power plant boilers. The goal is to assist the grad student team in final assembly and testing of the design. Much of the work will be focused on programing and tuning the system to achieve the performance desired.
The student will be integrated into the multidisciplinary project team including members from computer science, mechanical engineering, and metallurgy. The student will be assigned specific goals and tasks to accomplish as a member of the team, present their progress during weekly meetings, and work closely with graduate students with a variety of backgrounds to accomplish the overall goal.
