Project Goals and Description:
The goal of the project is to quantify to what extent the extractive industries are contributing or have the potential to contribute to sustainable development in and around the communities where they operate. This project is interesting because it includes interdisciplinary research with mining engineers, data scientists, and social scientists. The student will be part of a larger project; however, will conduct their own research that contributes to this project.
Weekly meetings with faculty and graduate students; mentoring from both faculty and graduate students.
