Helping the Mines Community Build Companies

With construction on schedule for the Beck Venture Center opening in second half 2023, the Mines Venture Program has been operating in a temporary location to support Mines-affiliated founders pursuing a path to commercialization.

The program provides guidance on business model development, introductions to mentors with technical or industry expertise, and guidance for raising capital.

Founder support through the Beck Venture Center will include four pillars – Training, Industry Partnerships, Events and a Collaborative Community – supplemented with funding through grants and preparation for raising investment capital.

The Mines Venture Program will continue to support current teams and onboard new teams prior to the opening of the Beck Venture Center

Venture Center

The Beck Venture Center, a 31,000-square-foot building, combines unique spaces, supportive programming and rich resources designed to help Mines faculty, alumni, and students successfully launch companies based on their breakthrough ideas, solutions and technologies.

Mike and Kelly Beck, seeing our growing emphasis on programs and facilities devoted to entrepreneurship and innovation, were the first to point out our need for a business venture center – a facility where the translation of research innovations to successful products and businesses happens.
