The Technical services group encompasses 4 different specialties.
Commissioning, Building Audits, Fire Detection, and Fire Suppression.

 

Commissioning

The commissioning team is responsible for ensuring all projects on Campus meet the project and design requirements from the planning stage to completion, as well as ensuring all staff are properly trained and instructed in operation and maintenance of all building systems.

  • Project management for Facilities management construction projects
  • Estimates for FM construction and remodel projects

 

Building Audits

The building audit team is responsible for gathering and recording the condition of all Campus building assets in Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural areas for each building on Campus. The team also supports keeping deferred maintenance lists current and insurance claim reporting.

Fire Suppression

This team is responsible for maintaining, testing and monitoring all campus Fire suppression systems.

  • Wet systems, dry systems and pre action systems
  • Test and inspect and maintain all fire suppression systems per N.F.P.A.
  • Maintain, test, and repair all types of backflow preventers.
  • Maintain, test and inspect perchloric fume hoods
  • Plan review for new and remodel construction for compliance and code
  • Code compliance and onsite inspections
  • Coordinate outages and impairments regarding life safety systems

 

Fire detection

Jason Forrester, Life safety technician 303-273-3418

This team is responsible for ensuring all alarm systems are in compliance with electrical and fire safety codes, as well as testing, repairing/replacing and reporting that all fire alarm systems are installed and working properly. They also conduct plan review of construction projects for compliance and code.

  • Cost estimates
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot alarm systems on campus
  • Serve as a technical advisor on system programming and configuration
  • Coordinate testing and impairments
  • Maintain, test and repair alarm systems across campus
  • Responds to calls for assistance in alarm emergencies on campus
  • Preventive maintenance on all alarm systems on a regular basis
  • Ensure all records of testing and results are up to date and accurate
