Parents of prospective students: Congratulations! Your son or daughter is applying to college, and as a parent, you deserve to be commended.
The college admissions procedure is not the same as it used to be, and for some of you, this may be the first time you've gone through the process. We want to help. Visit the topics to the left and this web page any time you need information.
Mines Parents and Family Members – mark your calendars!
Summer 2009 Parent Orientations – June 26, July 23, July 24 and August 22
Learn all the ins and outs of parenting a Mines student. The informative parent orientations are identical in format, so registration for only one date is necessary. Since this is a very popular event, early registration is suggested. Registration information for Parent Orientation will be mailed in early May. Register online. If you have questions about orientation, please call the Student Activities office at 303-273-3234.
Residence Halls Open – Friday, August 21, 2009
Parents are invited to help their sons and daughters settle into their new home. The Residence Halls will open at 8 a.m., allowing plenty of time to get moved in and set up before orientation begins on Saturday.
New Student Orientation– August 22-24, 2009
New Student Orientation is a great weekend for the students. The orientation has informative sessions to help students succeed at school and fun activities to enjoy the unique Mines experience.
Parents & Family Weekend – October 23-25, 2009
Every fall parents and family members are invited to join their students on campus for the unique experience of college life at Mines. Students enjoy this special opportunity to share their school environment, the quaint town of Golden, and the exciting Denver area. More information about this wonderful weekend sponsored by the Student Activities Office and The Parents Fund will be made available this summer.
