DENVER7 squeezed in coverage of Mines' Cardboard Boat Race on Clear Creek. The boats are built of cardboard and duct tape can only be used to hold the crafts together, not for waterproofing.

The Denver Gazette reported that boats were "collapsing all over the creek" during the exciting Cardboard Boat Race. The fact that the boats have to be made of cardboard might explain some of the structural failures that occurred once they were introduced to Clear Creek.

FOX31 reported on Mines' Cardboard Boat Race, a big part of the annual E-Days celebration. E-Days stands for Engineering Days. The 2025 celebration marked the 91st edition of Engineering Days at Mines.
