EMERGENCY / SERVICE OUTAGE MEMORANDUM

To: Engineering Hall, Engineering Annex and Hill Hall Occupants

Time: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Purpose: To replace a failing electrical pole serving Engineering Annex
System(s) Involved: Power to Engineering Hall and Engineering Annex and Lot U closure and High Bay access at Hill Hall
Effect(s) on Occupants: Varies – See below
Engineering Annex – All electrical power will be off for the duration of the outage. Please turn off all electrical devices including computers the night before. Since there will be no power in the building occupants should not enter the building.
Engineering Hall – Power will need to be turned off to this building sometime between 7:00am and 8:00am. Please turn off all electrical devices including computers the night before. Power will be off for a period of 30 minutes and then power will be restored to the building until sometime later in the day, when there will be another 30-minute power outage. The timing of this second power outage will depend on how long it takes to replace the pole. Occupants will be given 30 minutes advanced warning to prepare for the second outage.
Hill Hall – Access to Lot U and the loading dock at the High Bay will be blocked by a boom truck used to remove and set the new electrical pole. The alleyway providing access will be blocked.
