Dear Colorado School of Mines Neighbors,

Our campus will soon celebrate our spring commencement with four ceremonies over three days. All ceremonies will be held at Marv Kay Stadium. The schedule for the ceremonies is as follows:
Thursday, May 13 at 2 p.m. – Graduate Commencement
Friday, May 14 at 9 a.m. – Undergraduate Ceremony #1
Friday, May 14 at 1 p.m. – Undergraduate Ceremony #2
Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. – Class of 2020 Commencement

We anticipate additional vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area around Marv Kay Stadium between Maple & Illinois and 11th & 13th Streets on all days, as well as a general increase of activity around campus. Please reference the commencement map for more information on where we are routing guests to park.

Street closures:
12th Street from Maple back to the stadium will be closed as follows:
Thursday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Residents and emergency vehicles will be allowed through. Barricades will be in place during these times and staffed for easy removal. Residents will be given a pass to show staff, which will be delivered to your door the week of the ceremony.

Parking:
We are requesting no parking on Maple St. north of 12th St. roughly 4 car lengths back for the same hours as listed above in street closures through the City of Golden. Signs will be placed 24 hours in advance.
We are also asking all attendees to please be mindful of all posted city parking restrictions.

COVID-19 Safety Requirements:
Masks are required. Jefferson County Public Health is requiring masks for all staff, graduates and guests for graduation ceremonies. We are asking all attendees to bring a mask. If they do not have one, they will be provided one. Children under 11 years old do not have to wear a mask. Hand sanitizer stations will be available as people enter. Our custodial is going to disinfect the venue (all chairs, bleachers, bathrooms, railings, etc.) in between ceremonies and will routinely disinfect the restrooms. 6’ distancing will be enforced for non-household members, and rows of the bleachers will be marked as closed to make sure guests remain 6’ apart in the stands as well. Field seating is all appropriately distanced. Family units will be seated in pods of 4 and a few pods of 2 and each pod is 6’ from the other pod. All attendees are required to self-screen for COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms prior to attending. Anyone experiencing symptoms is asked to not attend and will be denied entry.

Commencement is a true milestone for our students and their families, and is a symbol of the most
important thing we do at Mines. The past year we have been unable to celebrate in person, and both
graduates and families are excited to attend this celebration on our campus. We thank you in advance for
your patience and support as we celebrate the accomplishments of our newest graduates and welcome
them into our global alumni community.

If you have questions or concerns about the events, please contact Lisa Elson, Director of Commencement
and Special Events, Office of the President, 303-273-3488.

Thank you and Go Orediggers!
