MS Program, Quantum Engineering

Kylee Shiekh

As an undergraduate, I focused on Computational Mathematics but was inevitably drawn into the world of machine learning. It became an interest of mine, working on interdisciplinary projects that applied machine learning to new problems. First in chemical engineering and later in quantum physics, which encouraged me to pursue this program. Participating in the traineeship enables me to be more involved with the quantum community at large, and further develop skills in research, communication, and cooperation. I am very interested in diversity and ethics education, and hope to further progress in those areas through this program and my other work in engineering education.
Outside of research, I’m an avid reader and enjoy many forms of art. I’m passionate about photography and portraiture. Next, I hope to become more experienced with charcoal pencils.
