Dear Mines Community,

The Governor announced today that the State’s vaccination Phase 1B.4 will begin March 19. We wanted to let you know about upcoming COVID-19 vaccine opportunities and give you more information so you can make informed decisions.

We have received questions regarding who qualifies under the State’s vaccination Phase 1B.4. We are defining “student-facing higher education employees” as anyone who is working on campus this semester, and anyone who is planning to work on campus this summer or fall. This includes student employees. Please note that Mines is not requiring vaccinations but strongly encourages our community to get vaccinated when they become eligible.

COVIDCheck Colorado

COVIDCheck Colorado has partnered with several health systems, including Centura, Denver Health, and HealthONE, to manage a pre-registry for people who want to get vaccinated. Once you register, COVIDCheck will send out invitations to eligible participants when appointments are available. Here is the registry link. You can also call 720-735-0031 to register.

Please note that while COVIDCheck Colorado provides COVID-19 testing on campus they do not currently offer vaccines on campus. We continue to work with them on that possibility.

Campus Vaccine Clinic

We are working with another vendor on plans to offer a vaccine clinic on campus later this month. We hope to have more information next week. Because vaccine allocations will be limited, we will initially be focusing on faculty and staff through this clinic. We encourage all faculty and staff, however, to register for a vaccine through COVIDCheck in case you are able to secure an appointment before we are able to offer an on-campus clinic.

Vaccine Information

COVIDCheck Colorado has provided a link to vaccine information to help answer questions about the vaccine. This video explains the process of getting a vaccine and talks about how you can register with COVIDCheck Colorado. For more about vaccines and their importance, check out this fact sheet they have prepared.

Have a safe and warm weekend.

Best regards,

Peter Han
