Colorado School of Mines is one of the top 100 colleges and universities in the United States, according to the latest rankings from Forbes. Mines ranks No. 100 overall in Forbes’ 2027 America’s Top Colleges list, climbing 27 spots from No. 127 last year.
Mines also ranks No. 74 among research universities and No. 21 among colleges and universities in the West. Forbes evaluated about 1,600 four-year colleges and universities to develop its list of the nation’s top 500.
Unlike rankings based heavily on institutional reputation, the Forbes methodology focuses on student outcomes and return on investment, using measures including graduation rates, student debt, alumni salaries and alumni achievement. Forbes reports a median alumni salary of $119,274 for Mines graduates with 10 years of experience.
