Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Colorado School of Mines continues to closely monitor the global outbreak of the novel strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19). 

The latest updates, as well as all previous communications, are included below.

Emergency management officials are in close coordination with the Jefferson County Public Health Department (JCPH) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and have assembled a cross-functional team to coordinate planning and actions in order to mitigate impact on education and services, develop contingency plans, and support students and employees.

While not quite as intense (or arduous) as the M Climb, new students still got their Mines helmets spray-painted and placed their rocks in a temporary location on campus this morning. Campus COVID-19 response update: August 14, 2020

Campus mask policy updated based on latest research on materials—A recently published study by researchers at Duke University found that bandanas and neck gaiters are not effective in reducing transmission of respiratory droplets. Until further notice, bandanas and neck gaiters should NOT be used as face masks to comply with Mines mask requirements, unless they are the only available option.
