The following message was sent to Mines faculty and staff on 3/20/20:

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Hello from Enrollment Management! We hope you are doing well and successfully adjusting to the virtual campus at Mines. We thought it would be helpful for you to know what Enrollment Management is offering prospective and currents students just in case you are working with anyone who might need assistance.

Admissions:

On-Campus Visit Experiences Are Cancelled
All on-campus visit experiences are cancelled through April 5, 2020. That includes Making the Connection, the Edgar Mine Tour and Discover Mines. Unfortunately, there’s a good chance that students may not be able to experience an on-campus visit before making their college decision. We sent our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience of these cancellations to students and their families. However, we are now trying to create as many opportunities and resources online in order to help prospective students make as informed of a decision as possible during these unprecedented times.

Virtual Visit and Call Opportunities

  • Accepted Student & Family Information Sessions: We’re taking our information sessions online and will feature a thirty minute session with approximately 15-20 minutes afterward to answer questions.
  • Ask An Oredigger: Register for a call and one of our current students will ring the number you provide us. They are excited to talk about their Mines experience, why they chose Mines and of course, answer your questions.
  • Make It Mines Webinars: Join current students, admissions staff and other incoming students/families members for a group conversation.

Students will need to have their Campus Wide ID (CWID) handy as you will need it to register for these events. Students can Click the link below, select the date on the calendar and register for one (or more) of our virtual visit opportunities:

Calling Campaigns

  • Admissions Staff Calling Campaign: Student-assigned admissions staff members are calling students on their assigned caseload. We hope students will pick up and say hi, since we are just checking in on them. Feel free to have students send us an email (admissions@mines.edu) if they would like to set up a call with their admissions counselor/staff member.

Online Resources

  • Accepted Student Webpage: We are loading a bunch of videos and resources onto our accepted student webpage. Here students can find our residence hall tour video, a video about Golden and surrounding area, newsletters, etc. Please visit this page regularly.
  • Accepted Student And Family Facebook Groups: If students haven’t already joined, there are active conversations happening on our student and family Facebook groups. Search for the groups: “Family of Accepted Students – Fall 2020” and “Colorado School of Mines Accepted Students – Fall 2020” and request access. Join the conversation!
  • COVID-19 Webpage: Students can stay up-to-date on Colorado School of Mines’ COVID-19 announcements on this website.
