Are you a Mines alum who has thought about becoming a K-12 teacher? Return to Mines to earn your Non-Thesis Master’s Degree and teaching license in two semesters of on-campus, evening classes. You can choose to teach at any point! Once you have your license in Colorado, you can continue to renew it indefinitely, even while you are working in another profession.

Teach@Mines offers:

  • Licensure in Math, Science or Computer Science: You can earn one of four licenses from Mines – Secondary (7-12) Math, Middle Grades (6-8) Math, Secondary (7-12) Science, or K-12 Computer Science.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Courses are offered in the evenings at 5 or 5:30pm. You can begin your licensure coursework during any semester.
  • Versatile Career Options: Whether you’re considering teaching immediately or exploring other fields first, Teach@Mines equips you with transferable skills that make you stand out in any profession.

Through this program, you will get in-classroom experience alongside professional educators, making it a true apprentice-type program. You won’t just learn theory; you’ll also directly learn about the best practices in teaching math, science and computer science and gain experience using these techniques at a range of grade levels.

You can take advantage of Teach@Mines partnerships with local school districts, which are eager to hire our students. Our graduates often receive multiple job offers from Colorado or out-of-state districts. If you’d like to teach outside the United States, we also have connections around the world, especially if you’re teaching computer science, science or math.
