In most cases, studying abroad with Mines will not delay your graduation. With more than 1,100 pre-approved courses available, you can take classes that meet your degree requirements while abroad. Working closely with your CASA advisor ensures your credits apply toward your program.

Study abroad credits transfer through a pre-approval process that allows you to select courses aligned with your degree before you go abroad. Mines advisors review and approve courses to ensure they count toward graduation requirements. Planning ahead is key to a successful academic experience abroad.

Yes—Mines offers study abroad scholarships, and students may also apply for external funding opportunities. Many students use a combination of scholarships, grants, and financial aid to support their experience and make study abroad more affordable. 

What support will I have before, during, and after my study abroad program? 

Mines provides comprehensive study abroad support, including advising, pre-departure preparation, and assistance throughout your time abroad. You’ll also have access to ongoing support from staff and peers, including Study Abroad Peer Advisors, to help you succeed before, during and after your experience.
