Colorado School of Mines remains the top-ranked national university in Colorado, according to the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.
Mines ranks No. 80 among National Universities, holding steady from last year, and moved up three spots to No. 37 among Top Public Schools. U.S. News evaluates more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities annually based on up to 17 measures of academic quality and student outcomes.
The university also saw gains across several other U.S. News rankings, including a significant jump in Best Value Schools, rising 74 spots to No. 104. Mines climbed 14 spots to No. 25 for Best Undergraduate Teaching and six spots to No. 50 among Most Innovative Schools.
Mines also moved up two spots to No. 48 among Best Colleges for Veterans.
