Supportive Measures for Complainants
Supportive measures are offered to any student or employee who reports an incident of protected class discrimination or harassment, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating/domestic violence or stalking, regardless of their decision to go through a resolution process facilitated by the Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX. Supportive measures allow students to continue to attend Mines in a way that is safe and also allows them access to their education, and allow employees to continue working at Mines in a way that is safe.
If you have questions regarding any of Mines’ complainant measures, please contact our office.

Health and Wellness Support Measures
- Referral to confidential therapy/counseling (on- and off-campus) can be coordinated.
- You have the option to receive a Medical Forensic Exam (MFE) at St. Anthony. These exams can be used to ensure you receive immediate medical attention (STI/STD/pregnancy prevention, if applicable). It can also be used to collect forensic evidence. It is recommended to receive this exam within six days of a sexual assault. If you choose to get an MFE, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners recommend bringing or wearing the clothes the assault occurred in. If you are able to not shower or pee between the assault and the MFE, it can help the nurses collect more evidence. It is up to you to participate in each step of the exam, and the nurses will also ask for your consent before proceeding. One of the goals of the exam is to give power back to those who have been victimized.
This list is not exhaustive. If there are additional support services needed, please reach out to the Office for Institutional Equity (OIE@mines.edu) to discuss your needs.
