Build Community
The BUILD COMMUNITY section of the SE@M distinction involves participating and contributing to the community as it relates to sustainable energy (10 points minimum).
Examples of student-sponsored events:
- Executive officer of an active energy-related student club (5 points/semester)
- Mines Without Borders (MWB) implementation trip (10-15 points/trip)
- Host an energy-related social networking event not sponsored by student club (5 points each)
- Attend a related social networking event (1 point each, up to10 points max). (Includes ASHRAE, ASME club meetings, EEC, etc, requiring active participation)
Examples of Mines-sponsored activities:
- Member of student advisory council that helps manage this program (3 points per semester)
- Attend Environmental Leadership Lab (5 points)
Clubs (Requiring active participation):
- ASHRAE
- ASME
- Solar Decathlon
- Energy Club
- Green Team
