Systematic Review of Rigorous Research in Teaching Introductory Electronic Circuits

Stephanie Claussen | sclausse@mines.edu

This project sets out to review the literature in best-practices of teaching introductory circuits. Systematic literature reviews are used increasingly in engineering education. We are confident that such a review would make an important contribution to engineering education research.

Student Preparation

Qualifications

The student needs to have strong skills in reading critically, organizing information, and writing. They will need to be a hard worker, well-prepared for meetings and self-driven.

Time Commitment

20 hours/month

Skills/Techniques Gained

The student will be exposed to engineering education research, and specifically the research techniques of meta-analysis and systematic literature reviews.

Mentoring Plan

I will meet with the student every 1-2 weeks. We will set weekly progress goals and develop a way for them to identify when they are struggling to make progress.
