The Graduate School at Mines is open to graduates from four-year baccalaureate programs at recognized colleges and universities. Admission to all graduate programs is competitive, based on an evaluation of academic performance (undergraduate or graduate), test scores and references. Each department evaluates applications separately and admissions decisions are based on distinct admission criteria.

All application materials are submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies. Once an application file is complete, it is forwarded to the academic department review committee.

All applications should be submitted by the deadlines indicated. Please consult with the academic department if you wish to be considered beyond a deadline date.

 Current fees (required from all applicants):

  • $50 for the online domestic application
  • $70 for the online international application
  • $100 for the paper application
  • $25 for currently enrolled Mines students (online application)
  • $10 online non-degree application

We grant application fee waivers to students participating in the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program and GEM Fellows.
