Congratulations on your admission to Colorado School of Mines!
Welcome to Colorado School of Mines! Our International Student Orientation is required and designed to provide you with information about resources available to you and assist in your transition to the campus and surrounding community. During orientation week, you will hear from office representatives from across campus on topics such as Student Health Insurance, Student Health Center , Adjusting to Life in the United States, the Library, Public Safety, and Maintaining Your Visa Status. You will also get to meet some of the ISSS staff and attend several fun social events throughout the week. Attending orientation not only provides you with an opportunity to learn about Mines and the resources available to you, it also allows for you to meet other new students! You can find the complete orientation schedule above. Please note that attendance is required at all orientation sessions. Make sure to register to the event and check-in after arriving to the United States using the buttons below. If you do not attend required sessions, a registration hold will be placed on your record for the following semester. We look forward to seeing you there!

International Student Orientation information

International Student Orientation will be held during Welcome Week on August 15th. Orientation is MANDATORY. There will be a separate session for Undergraduate students and Graduate students. More info to come.
Undergraduate Students should plan to arrive prior to August 10 for MOVE IN. Orientation/Welcome Week will begin on August 11th.

Mandatory Fees:
All new international students are charged a $60 International Orientation Fee by International Student and Scholar Services. International Orientation Fee may not appear until Census Day. Please note that the International Orientation Fee is non-refundable if a student is enrolled as of the first day of the semester, even if the student later withdraws registration.

New international student Check-In
For all Incoming new F-1 and J-1 students who have arrived to the United States. Please complete your check in after you have landed in the United States. You can find the Check In under the Requests Tab in your International Student Portal.
Departmental Student Orientation Information
Please refer to your academic department for further details. Not all departments offer a separate orientation. However, if your department does offer an orientation, and it is mandatory, please be sure to attend.
