Follow the steps below to get started on your application to Colorado School of Mines and be ready to submit when Colorado Free Application Days open in October. This opportunity is available to Colorado residents only.

There’s no need to wait until Oct. 7 to begin. You can start your Golden or Common Application at any time and submit it once the Free Application Days window opens. We recommend getting started early so you have time to review your materials and thoughtfully respond to the short answer questions.
Submit on-time
To receive the Colorado Free Application Days fee waiver, your completed application must be submitted between 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 7 and 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 9, 2025.
Applications started before this window are eligible — as long as they’re submitted within the deadline. Drafts left unsubmitted will not qualify.
