Project Info
*Electron Microscopy Analysis of Fuel Cell and Battery Electrodes
Svitlana Pylypenko
spylypen@mines.edu
This project will focus on electron microscopy characterization of electrodes and other components of fuel cells and batteries. Image processing will be utilized to quantify information to correlate composition, morphology, structure, and performance. Several sample preparation methods will be explored and will include microtoming to prepare thin slices for further analysis with scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. This work is in collaboration with industrial partners and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
